Drink: 1999 Royal Tokaji, Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos
Nose: ripe summer fruits such as honeyed apricot, peach, and orange peel, with hints of earthy mushroom aromas. Very dense golden color and aroma.
Palate: tropical fruits, quince, wild flowers, velvety texture with a great long finish.
Notes: region- Hegyalja, Tokaj, Hungary ; varietal- Furmint blend (mostly Furmint, with some Hárslevelú and Muscat de Lunel); 1st growth Nyualszo vineyard; aged 4 years in oak. This wine is fantastic on its own as an apéritif or digestif, but would also pair well foie gras, fruit tarts, and a blue or soft cheese. Available at Wilson Daniels Ltd.
